VHDL design of EMCCD timing generator

Abstract: The CCD image sensor with electron multiplication is a great success in low-light-level detection and imaging applications. This paper analyzes control requirements of the TC285SPD EMCCD used in low-light-level imaging. Combining with the timing control demands of the analog front end AD9845B, a timing generator is implemented to drive the EMCCD by VHDL. The VHDL design and implementation process of the timing generator are presented. In development environment of the Quartus II, some simulation results of the system are given and have been analyzed in the end.

摘要: 具有电子倍增功能的CCD图像传感器在微光探测与成像领域获得了极大的成功。分析了该TC285SPD EMCCD用于微光成像时的控制要求,并结合模拟前端信号处理器AD9845B的时序控制要求,采用VHDL语言进行编程,实现了对该EMCCD的驱动控制。详细介绍了EMCCD时序发生器的VHDL设计方法和实现过程,在Quartus II环境下给出了系统的仿真结果,并对结果进行了分析讨论。
