Abstract: After finding the formal cascade LP(License Plate) location method can’t be applicable to all the situation,it modifies the compact region extraction method for LP candidates extraction.Keeping the formal method’s real-time character,the method improved the final detection ratio of the License Plate.

摘要: 通过深入研究分级车牌定位算法,发现当车牌左右两旁存在复杂竖直边缘干扰时,该算法中的候选车牌生成模块容易造成错误检测。提出了一种改进的候选车牌提取算法,可以去除竖直边缘干扰的影响,进一步提高了分级车牌定位算法的检测率,同时保持了算法的实时性。
关键词: 车牌定位, 分级车牌定位算法, 车牌区域字符紧密性特征, Haarlike特征, 级联Adaboost算法
