Abstract

Abstract: After finding the formal cascade LP（License Plate） location method can’t be applicable to all the situation，it modifies the compact region extraction method for LP candidates extraction.Keeping the formal method’s real-time character，the method improved the final detection ratio of the License Plate.

Key words: LP Location, cascade framework, LP compact character, Harrlike feature, cascade Adaboost classifier

摘要： 通过深入研究分级车牌定位算法，发现当车牌左右两旁存在复杂竖直边缘干扰时，该算法中的候选车牌生成模块容易造成错误检测。提出了一种改进的候选车牌提取算法，可以去除竖直边缘干扰的影响，进一步提高了分级车牌定位算法的检测率，同时保持了算法的实时性。

关键词: 车牌定位, 分级车牌定位算法, 车牌区域字符紧密性特征, Haarlike特征, 级联Adaboost算法
