Integration of Geography Model and GIS based on Model Metadata

基于元数据的地理模型与GIS的集成

Abstract: Geographical information system (GIS) is expected to be the platform that supports analysis, forecasting and decision in the regional sustainable development. But there are still some obstacles that how can the existent geographical models integrate with GIS system. Author suggests a standard scheme of model metadata for GIS system integration by Referring to ISO specifications. There are 9 parts for the standard model documents: model identification, model data and parameters, model management, model applicable domains, model running environment, model performance, model theory and model citation. In addition, the authors put forward the integrated mode and methods of geographical information application system. At the last, a protype system of model metadata management is suggested. The geography model metadata is one of the effective approaches, which will make use of existing abundant of geography models in every geography domains fully and make the system expansible.

摘要: 目前利用地理信息系统直接进行地理分析、模拟、预测和决策还存在很大的困难,现有的各种GIS系统不能提供相应的地理模型;并且已经发展起来的各种地学模型有着很大的差异,模型专家与GIS开发人员之间也存在着概念差异。从提高地理信息系统的地理应用分析功能,有效集成现有发展的各类模型和加强地学研究信息共享的角度出发,论文从元数据的角度出发,参考ISO有关规范,提出基于模型元数据的地理模型与GIS集成的思路。从9个方面规范并描述了地理应用模型标准文档应该提供的元数据信息。探讨了基于地理模型元数据进行集成的模式和方法,并给出了相应的原型系统。
