Research of image fusion between MRI images and ultrasound images during HIFU therapy

HIFU治疗子宫肌瘤中MRI与超声图像的融合研究

Abstract: Ultrasound image is the most commonly used imaging monitoring technology during HIFU therapy, but the poor quality of ultrasound images, image artifacts, usually need to use MRI images. Based on this, it proposes a new image monitoring solution. It extracts contours of hysteromyoma based on MRI images and fuses with real-time ultrasound images collectively to monitor HIFU treatment and navigation. The experimental results show that according to MRI images, it can have access to any real-time section smooth, precise contours of hysteromyoma and fuses with real-time ultrasound image. Clear contour is a supplement to some incomplete tumor boundary section in ultrasound images without affecting real-time monitoring of ultrasound. It is the foundation for accurate HIFU treatment.

摘要: 超声图像是高强度聚焦超声(HIFU)消融肿瘤中应用最多的影像学监控技术,但是超声图像质量差,图像伪影明显,通常还需要借助MRI图像,基于此,提出了一种新的影像监控方案,利用从MRI图像上分割出的肿瘤边界与实时超声图像融合,共同对HIFU治疗进行监控与导航。实验结果表明,基于MRI图像可以实时获取到任意切面平滑、准确的子宫肌瘤轮廓线,并融合显示于实时超声图像上,清晰的轮廓线既不影响超声的实时监控又弥补了某些切面的超声图像中肿瘤边界不完整的缺陷,为HIFU的精确治疗打下基础。
