Design of ejection exit based on dynamics simulation

Abstract: Traditionally design of ejection exit is always based on ground ejection experiment, which is costly and hard to control. In contrast, dynamics simulation obviously has advantages such as inexpensiveness, no risks and short design period. A multi-body dynamics model for pilot-ejection seat system is developed using the software LifeMOD. The movements of dummy’s limbs during the ejection phase are simulated on three different conditions. The trajectory of tip’s movement of dummy’s limbs forms a design envelope curve. From this curve, the minimum dimension of the ejection exit, which is satisfied with safety demand, is established. The conclusion of simulation and analysis may help to determine the dimension of ejection exit in aircraft design.

摘要: 传统的弹射通道设计手段局限于地面弹射实验,成本高,难控制;而动力学仿真与之相比具有成本低,零风险,设计周期短等明显优点。以多体动力学仿真软件LifeMOD为平台,建立了人椅系统的多刚体动力学模型,仿真分析了弹射出舱阶段三种不同工况下人体模型肢体的运动轨迹;以各点轨迹形成的包络面为边界,获得了满足安全要求的最小弹射通道尺寸,可以为弹射通道设计提供必要的指导。
