Abstract: A method for enhancing the performance of GPS in Asia & Pacific is presented. It adds the GEO(Geostationary Earth Orbit) & IGSO(Inclining Geostationary Synchronized Orbit) satellites to the GPS constellation, and then analyzes the visibility and PDOP in the enhanced area. Compared with the same parameters on a global scale, it is concluded that the positioning accuracy and availability of GPS are increased owing to the enhanced GEO & IGSO satellites.

Key words: Global Positioning System(GPS), Geostationary Earth Orbit(GEO), Inclining Geostationary Synchronized Orbit(IGSO), Position Dilution Of Precision(PDOP), availability
