PAR reduction of OFDM signal using Golay sequence accomplished with FPGA

Abstract: Because of the high PAR(Peak to Average Power Ratio) of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) signal, the applications are limited in many aspects. To reduce the PAR of OFDM signal, it can use the relationship between the Golay sequence and the REED-MULLER codes to code the original sequence. This paper simulates the theory with Matlab and accomplishes with PFGA. The test results of the Matlab and the FPGA system show that this method can reduce the PAR of OFDM signal below to 3 dB.

摘要: 正交频分复用(OFDM)信号由于具有较高的峰均比,在实际应用中受到了诸多限制。利用格雷互补序列与REED-MULLER之间的关系,对原始序列进行编码,可降低OFDM信号的峰均比。进行了Matlab仿真,以及FPGA实现,结果显示该方法可以将OFDM信号的峰均比降低到3 dB以下。
