Comparative study on methods of colorimetric characterization of LCD

液晶显示器颜色特性化方法的对比研究

Abstract: Liquid Crystal Display(LCD) is one of the most common computer display devices. Because the color space of LCD is device-dependent, the characterization of LCD should be performed to map the color space of LCD to the CIE standard color space. The optoelectronic property and the color display principle of LCD are firstly described;then some existing methods of characterization are analyzed; at last the advantages and disadvantages of three methods of characterization which base on 1-Dimension Look-Up Table(1D-LUT) through experiments are compared. And this paper demonstrates that black-level offset and optimization play important roles in characterization of LCD by comparing the color differences of different methods of characterization.

摘要: 液晶显示器是目前最普遍的计算机显示设备之一。由于其颜色空间存在设备相关性,因此需要对液晶显示器进行特性化,即设备颜色空间映射为CIE标准色度空间。描述了液晶显示器的光电特性和颜色呈现机理;对目前已有的特性化方法进行分析;最后通过实验,比较了基于一维查找表的三种特性化方法的优劣。通过不同特性化方法颜色复现精度的对比,论证了黑底修正和最优化求解在液晶显示器特性化中的重要作用。
