Abstract: This paper first presents a new method of Palmprint identification by using local binary pattern (LBP). By referring to hierarchical retrieval, Gabor filter is first used to extract the global energy feature, and then LBP operator is used to extract the local feature, which are used to classify twice. The experiment result shows that the identification rate can be improved further by comparison with the method of using Gabor filter only.

摘要: 本文首次提出将局部二进制模式(LBP)应用到掌纹识别中。借鉴分级检索的思想,先采用Gabor滤波器提取掌纹的全局能量特征,后采用LBP算子提取局部特征实现两次分类。实验结果表明,与单纯的Gabor滤波器方法相比,系统的识别率可进一步提高。
