Abstract: A new method to skin deformation is presented in this paper. When linear blending skinning (LBS) is utilized to skeletal animation, an undesirable collapsing effect takes place to joints with large spin. The essence of collapsing is discussed, and auxiliary bones are attached to joints working badly. Practice proves this method feasible, because the effect of several auxiliary bones with smaller spin equals to that of a single bigger bone with larger spin.

摘要: LBS算法在大转角的关节处会发生严重的“塌陷现象”,对此本文在分析了LBS的缺陷的基础上提出了辅助骨骼驱动的蒙皮变形法。该方法在大变形的关节处添加辅助骨骼,通过辅助骨骼的小角度旋转来模拟单根骨骼的大角度旋转。实验表明辅助骨骼不仅能够有效地克服LBS的缺陷,而且能够充分利用LBS的优点,在低端硬件上的也能快速实现。
