Abstract: A scheme for layered color image coding based on subband decomposition is proposed in this paper, in which FDS (Frequency Domain Separation) is adopted to derive pyramid structure from the frequency components of source color image, i.e. it can be divided into several subbands with different frequency through QMF (Quadrature Mirror Filters) and coded for these subbands individually. DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) is utilized to code the base band and coding of subbands with high frequency is implemented by vector quantization considering the real application to ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) environments. The simulation results show that it is feasible to code color image based on subband decomposition by QMF designed and good performance can be achieved.

摘要: 本文提出了一种基于子带分解的彩色图像分层编码方案,它采用的是频域分割(Frequency Domain Separation, FDS)方法并根据信源图像的频率成分建立金字塔数据结构,即通过正交镜像滤波器组把彩色图像分成不同频率的子带,并对各个子带分别进行编码。其中对基带采用DCT变换编码,考虑到在ATM网络中的实际应用情况,只选取部分高频子带,对其进行矢量量化编码处理。仿真结果表明对于彩色图像通过正交镜像滤波器组的设计采用基于子带分解的图像分层编码方案是可行的,并且具有良好的性能。
