一种基于二元树复小波的运动估计方法

Abstract: The loss of information due to occlusion and other complications has been one of the main bottlenecks in the field of motion estimation.This paper presents a motion estimation algorithm based on dual-tree complex wavelet,taking advantage of its shift invariance and directional selectivity.First,subbands within all orientations in different levels are respectively treated to overcome error propagation induced by frequently used coarse-to-fine searching strategy.Then,the frame next to the current one is used to supplement the lost information due to occlusion and to improve the estimation accuracy within boundary areas.Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective with robustness to intense motion,scene change and occlusion.

摘要: 遮挡等原因造成的信息丢失问题严重影响运动估计的精度。将二元树复小波引入序列图像的运动估计中,提出了一种基于二元树复小波的运动估计新方法。该方法对不同层次、各个方向子带分别进行处理,克服了传统的由粗到细的搜索策略带来的误差漂移;同时引入当前帧的后一帧(后向参考帧)来弥补由于遮挡导致的信息丢失,并提高边界区域的运动估计精度。大量实验表明,该算法能消除剧烈运动、场景切换及遮挡等不利因素的影响,实验结果验证了该算法的有效性。
