Research Progress on Modeling of Brain-Inspired Visual Aesthetic Appreciation

视觉审美体验的类脑计算模型研究进展

Abstract: How to model the neural mechanism related to high level cognitive functions is an important crossing research direction between neuroscience and informatics, which indicates that the research on human special mind activities has reached to a new stage. Firstly, this paper summarizes the research advances of the biological foundations about visual aesthetic appreciation, and points out that the neural circuit of brain is the biological base of visual aesthetic appreciation. The function analysis of the cortexes and brain tissues related to visual aesthetic appreciation is also the base of brain-inspired computation model. Secondly, the models of brain-inspired visual aesthetic appreciation constructed from the perspectives of neuro informatics, neurocognitive science and neuroasthetic are introduced and compared. Finally, the trend of modeling of brain-inspired visual aesthetic appreciation is forecasted, and the research value is also?elucidated. The modeling of brain-inspired visual aesthetic appreciation will help to reveal the functions of the cortexes and brain tissues, and provide useful references for the modeling of neural mechanisms that are involved in high-order cogitation ability.

摘要: 目前神经科学与信息科学交叉发展的一个重要方向是面向高级认知功能的神经系统模型的构建,其标志着人类对自身特有的心智活动的研究进入到一个新阶段。简要综述了关于视觉审美体验的生理基础研究的进展,指出大脑神经回路是视觉审美体验的生理基础,其所涉及的大脑皮层和脑组织在视觉情感感知中功能的科学解析是构建类脑计算模型的基础。分别介绍了神经信息学、神经认知科学和神经美学框架下的视觉审美体验的类脑计算模型,并对模型进行了比较分析。对视觉审美体验的类脑计算模型研究的发展趋势进行了展望,阐述了该领域研究的意义。视觉审美体验类脑模型的构建有助于揭示大脑皮层和脑组织在视觉情感感知中的功能,有助于实现视觉情感体验的认知模拟。
