摘要: H.264现有的高复杂度多模式运动估计和模式选择占据了大部分编码时间,提出了一种新的最佳宏块模式选择算法来加速模式选择过程。通过对宏块模式的时间与空间预测,并结合宏块率失真代价的统计特性,对宏块所有编码模式划分成不同优先级的集合,实现最佳宏块模式的快速判定。实验表明,该算法在大幅度降低编码时间的同时,对宏块模式判断的准确性有了进一步的提升。

Abstract: With a majority of the total complexity,motion estimation is the most computationally expensive part.In this paper a novel algorithm to speed up the inter-mode selection process for the H.264 encoding is presented.The proposed scheme determines the best coding mode of a given macroblock from several mode sets with different priorities by predicting the best mode from neighboring macroblocks in time and in space and by estimating its Rate-Distortion(RD) cost from the macroblock in the previous frame.Experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm has a further improvement of accuracy of mode decision with significant encoding time degradation.
