Abstract: Secondary development of I-DEAS software is specially studied,to realize the function of virtual simulation and analysis of weld fatigue using I-DEAS software. The I-DEAS software interface technology is realized by starting ORBIX services and utilizing the CORBA communication protocol;by calling Open I-DEAS secondary development libraries class, accessing to limited meta-data can be achieved.According to the actual engineering needs, taking I-DEAS software as the pre- and post-processing platform, based on the AAR standard and the Palmgren-Miner cumulative damage principle,a virtual simulation analysis module of weld fatigue is developed.Practical application is done using this module, and the result shows that based on the principle of I-DEAS software secondary development,a deeper level of the embedded software development can be achieved,so that the I-DEAS CAD software capacity can be enriched.
