Abstract: With the development of Internet and multimedia technologies, recommender systems especially music recommender systems have become one of the key research issues in the field of e-commerce. This paper presents an in-depth survey of music recommender systems and relevant techniques. Based on the analysis of personal and group music recommender systems, the future development directions are discussed and corresponding research aspects are suggested. Researches on this topic will substantially improve the quality of music recommendations, enhance user satisfaction and hence broaden the applicability of music recommender systems. In general, relevant research outcomes will provide valuable insights for the design of recommender systems and multimedia applications.
