Abstract: In this paper，some faults in some known similarity measures and distance formulas between Vague sets are pointed out，and a definition of approach measures between Vague sets（Values） by piecewise function is presented.Using the definition，definition of similarity measures between Vague sets（Values） is a new proposed by piecewise function.Three weighed approach measure formulas and three new similarity measure formulas are given.A method of pattern recognition by approach measure and similarity measure between Vague sets is presented in Vague set environment condition.An example shows that all formulas are effective.
