Abstract: Presents realizing fingerprint enhancement by processing in transform space. Performs contourlet transform on fingerprint then disposes the transform coefficients by estimating the standard deviation of noises. Preserve coefficients associated to edge and restrain coefficients associated to noises. Enhanced fingerprint will be obtained when transforms these changed coefficients back to spatial domain. Experiments proved that proposed algorithm is responsible.
