摘要: 提出了一种水下视频图像高效压缩编码的算法。该算法主要由水下图像预处理、全局运动估计、全局运动与局部运动混合补偿三部分组成。图像预处理模块采用基于小波变换的方法,可以有效去除水下图像中的视觉冗余;全局运动估计采用基于特征点的快速、鲁棒估计算法;提出的全局运动与局部运动混合补偿方案简单易行。实验结果表明,提出的水下视频压缩算法在保证视觉质量的前提下,具有较高的压缩效率,特别适合于海底视频图像在甚低比特率下的压缩传输,以满足有限带宽水声信道的要求。

Abstract: This paper presents an efficient underwater video compression algorithm.The algorithm mainly consists of three modules:Namely preprocessing of underwater images,global motion estimation,and hybrid global-local motion compensation.A discrete wavelet transform based preprocessing approach is employed to effectively reduce the visual redundancy underwater images.Global motion parameters are estimated by using a fast and robust feature-point based algorithm.The proposed hybrid global-local motion compensation scheme is easy to implement.The experimental results show that while maintaining the acceptable perceptual quality of the reconstructed images,the proposed algorithm can provide high coding efficiency,especially applying to sea floor video compression and transmission at very low bit rates to meet the limited bandwidth requirement of underwater acoustic channels.
