Abstract: Topology control and topology maintenance are two of the most important techniques used in wireless Ad hoc networks to optimize network topology.In this paper，a topology maintenance strategy of maintaining topology performances is proposed.The strategy can increase maintenance function for topology control algorithms based on nodes’ position.Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the new strategy can efficiently maintain the network connectivity and guarantee the topology with best performances in terms of the nodes degree，power efficiency，power stretch factor and so on.
