Abstract: Multicast conserve the network resources efficiently,it is significant to provide multicast mechanism in wireless mobile environment.This paper briefly introduced existing mobile multicast protocols,and proposed a novel hierarchical mobile multicast protocol based on mobility prediction. Simulation results demonstrated that that this scheme has lower multicast tree reconfiguration frequency and smaller handoff delay. The proposed scheme can reduce multicast packet loss and minimize protocol overhead,and optimize the delivery path of multicast packets.
