Abstract: China is a country with a lot of differences among different regions in economy，society，resource and environment.To make a policy which can improve region economy effectively，it is necessary to evaluate properly the development level in different regions，and find out the key factors which lead those differences.This paper analyzes and compares the indices system of the regional economy by using the methods of principal components analysis and factor commonly used in the data mining field. By the analysis with historical data，the paper can come to a conclusion matching the reality，which is helpful in exploring the potential and making policy in social and economic development.
