Abstract: The university computer rooms are of low efficiency of human supervision, low adaptive adjustment ability and high energy consumption. In order to solve these problems, this paper analyzes the supervision and administration status quo of university computer rooms. It puts forward to make use of the Internet of Things to monitor the environment and energy consumption of the university computer rooms automatically and remotely. To deal with the ZB data size caused by the rapid increase number of edge devices in the Internet of things, this paper puts forward the method of applying edge calculation in the distributed monitoring system of university computer rooms. Besides this paper also puts forward the architectural model and edge calculation model and gives the monitoring method of the thermal environment, energy consumption and other key parameters of the computer rooms. In view of the room supervision, testing, using and energy saving services and other aspects, the paper gives the corresponding solutions for college energy conservation, which provides a new idea for the energy conservation and room security of the university.
