Abstract: Edge detection is a basic technique in image processing and computer vision.A new algorithm for image edge detection which is based on slant-Haar type transform is presented in this paper.The results of experiments indicate that the algorithm has a good effective ability of image edge detection.The method is not only very simple and has fast computing speed，but also has advantage in processing the picture whose gray changes gradually.
