Improved DFT channel estimation method for IEEE802.16d system

摘要: 由于IEEE802.16系统使用了虚载波作频带保护间隔,当在该系统下使用基于DFT估计算法时,将会由于信道时域能量失配而使得估计性能下降,所以在该系统下不能直接应用此种估计算法。通过利用基于简化的LMMSE准则的方法来预测估计全频带内的导频响应值以及通过在时域补零的方法来改进DFT估计器的性能。在802.16d系统下仿真该算法,仿真结果表明利用该方法可以很好地改善基于DFT的估计器在该系统下的估计性能。

Abstract: In the IEEE802.16d system,because the virtual carriers are used to provide guard bands,if the estimator is implemented based on DFT in this system,the estimation performance will be degraded due to the dispersive distortion of an estimated channel impulse response,this estimator can’t be directly implemented in the IEEE802.16d system.A novel enhanced DFT-based channel estimation is proposed which can improve estimator performance by simple LMMSE method to predict all pilot subcarriers in the frequency domain and zero insertion in the time domain.This paper simulates this algorithm based on IEEE802.16d system,simulation results show that the proposed method can well improve the DFT estimator performance in this system.
