Application in multi-models rendering with new implementation of progressive mesh

一种新型渐进网格在多模型显示中的应用

Abstract: In order to solve some problems such as memory overage even more than system memory and low frames per second in traditional methods, new implementation of PM is proposed which is surface simplification-independent. It decomposes basic operations of simplification and cuts those unnecessary data structure and operations as much as possible and space complexity and time complexity are improved. A simple framework to render multi-models in application is put forward. Experiments show that the new implementation of PM based framework values a lot in rendering multi-models during application.

摘要: 为了解决传统方法在渲染多模型时通常出现的一些例如内存过度消耗甚至超出系统内存以及显示的帧数率过低等问题,提出了一种新型渐进网格的实现方法。该方法独立于简化算法,通过分解渐进网格的基本操作,尽量省去不必要的数据结构和操作从而使空间复杂性和时间复杂性都有明显的改进。为实际工程应用提出了一种简单的多模型显示框架;实验表明这种以新型渐进网格实现为基础的框架在多模型显示的场景下具有很好的应用价值。
