Multiple description coding scheme based on redundant Ridgelet transform

一种基于冗余Ridgelet变换的图像多描述编码方法

Abstract: A new multiple description coding scheme is proposed.This scheme combines the JPEG standard and the redundant Ridgelet transform,and gets a good performance both on image compression and transmission robustness.The image is partitioned into many blocks and every block is applied on DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) and quantification.Basing on the frequency the DCT coefficients in blocks are regrouped,and they are applied the redundant Ridgelet transform in succession.Depending on the energy property of the coefficients in ridgelet domain the descriptions are generated.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can reconstruct the image effectively even only one of the descriptions is received,and it has high performance at error-resilient in image transmission.

摘要: 利用冗余Ridgelet变换实现了一种多描述编码方案。在JPEG标准的基础上,利用冗余Ridgelet变换,不仅在描述之间引入了冗余,而且根据脊波变换对图像分解的有效性,同时可以获得理想的图像压缩效果。该方案对输入图像进行分块、DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform)变换以及量化;对得到的系数矩阵进行按频率重排;重排后的系数矩阵再做冗余Ridgelet变换,根据脊波域系数能量的特点产生描述。实验表明,当产生两个描述时,提出的多描述编码方法,即使只收到一个描述时,也可以获得很好的图像重建效果,从而有较好的抗误码性能。
