Abstract: H.264 introduces intra-prediction coding and uses Rate-Distortion Optimization(RDO) technique to decide the best intra-coding mode.Although the intra-prediction greatly improves the intra-coding efficiency,it enormously increases the computational complexity.In order to decrease the computational complexity of the algorithm,a fast algorithm for intra-prediction mode decision based on a DCT-based energy function is proposed.Experiments show that the proposed algorithm can save about a half of the computation time stably while maintaining the PSNR-Bitrate performance of H.264/AVC.

摘要: H.264引入帧内预测并采用率失真优化(RDO)技术来选择最佳帧内预测模式,提高I帧的编码效率,但也大大增加了编码的计算复杂度。为了降低计算复杂度,提出了一种基于DCT变换的能量函数的快速帧内预测选择算法。实验结果表明,该算法在保证图像质量和基本保持编码效率的前提下降低了近一半的编码时间。
