Simulation of NMT on ADSL and VDSL loops

NMT在ADSL与VDSL线路上的仿真验证

Abstract: The Non-orthogonal Multi-modulation Technique(NMT) is a novel modulation technology in which the orthogonality restrictions have been broken through.For validating the feasibility of NMT and providing the evidences of using the new modulation method on ADSL and VDSL,the contrastive computer simulations between NMT and DMT on the ADSL and VDSL loops are conducted.In this paper the coding structures of NMT and DMT are briefly described firstly,and then the technical issues of engineering applications of NMT,such as sub-wave interference and wave form pre-processing,Peak to Average Ratio(PAR),and ill-conditioned equations are interpreted.The feasibility of NMT and the advantages against DMT are verified by the computer simulations,and the transmission efficiency increases by 15% at least.

摘要: 非正交多重调制(Non-orthogonal Modulation Technique,NMT)是一种突破了正交限制的全新的调制方法,为了验证NMT的可行性,又为现在广泛采用的有线带宽接入方式ADSL和VDSL采用能进一步提高传输效率的新调制方法提供依据,在ADSL和VDSL线路上与现有的离散多音调制(Discrete Multi-Tone,DMT)调制方法进行了对比计算机仿真的研究。文中在简略描述NMT和DMT的码元结构之后,着重介绍了NMT在工程应用上面对的关键技术问题和解决方法,最后给出了在同等条件下NMT与DMT的仿真实验对比结果,NMT的传输效率比DMT最少提高15%。
