二维SIMD体系结构研究与模拟器实现

Abstract: Two-dimensional SIMD architecture is composed of N×N processing elements that interconnected to others according to some topology.The processing elements in the same row or column work together in SIMD mode.As the multimedia accelerator it is now widely used in SOCs,therefore research on two-dimensional SIMD architecture is essential to achieving high performance in multimedia processing.In this paper we have presented the research result on the main design factors of two-dimensional SIMD architecture and implementation of performance simulator.The experiment results show that two-dimensional SIMD architecture can speedup multimedia applications obviously and validates research conclusion.

摘要: 二维SIMD结构是指一个由N×N的处理单元按一定的拓扑结构连接组成的阵列结构,其同行/列的处理单元以SIMD方式工作。二维SIMD结构作为多媒体加速部件广泛应用在各种多媒体处理的SOC中,因此其体系结构的设计是获得高性能多媒体计算的重要因素。结合多媒体应用程序的特点,研究分析不同设计参数对二维SIMD结构性能的影响,并设计实现了一个二维SIMD结构的性能模拟器。实验结果显示了二维SIMD结构对多媒体程序有很好的加速比并证实了研究分析结论。
